3-part course on St. Matthew Passion by J. S. Bach, Trevor Stephenson instructor (Feb. 25, March 4, March 11)

3-part class on Bach’s monumental St. Matthew Passion, BWV 244.
We’ll look at the the work’s structure, text, narrative technique, chorales uses, instrumentation, use of Well-tempered tuning and key-color, performance and reception history.
Reading knowledge of music suggested.
Fee $100 for the course.
We’ll meet at Trevor’s home-studio in Madison.
